Newsletter

I updated the Conservancy's newsletter for them. I strove to give it a very modern open feel that invited readers in. The redesign was received with great enthusiasm by employees and members of this environmental advocacy group.

Activities booklet

This is the yearly Activities booklet we put together at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida highlighting classes, events and various offerings on tap. I did the design and layout of the piece and even have some of my photos featured in there as well. (The kayak on the river image is one of mine.)

Annual Report completed

I am currently working through a number of annual reports for the Naples Art Association. Here is the cover design from one of them. They are all six page pieces with the final products presented in print and web resolutions.

FranChild

Here are some logos that I did for FranChild Inc. A pretty cool company that helps you set your kids up in their very own business and teach them all the cool lessons that comes along with that. I've enjoyed working with the company president Ralph on a few different oprojects and we have some more fun stuff coming down the pike from them.

Flying Devil T-shirt

A t-shirt design that I sell through Zazzle. This was picked as one of "Today's Best" designs back on February 3 when I submitted it.

Watering Restrictions one sheet

Work created for the Bonita Bay Group through Sharon Arnold of Gravina Smith PR firm in Fort Myers, FL. The client was looking for a simple flyer they could distribute throughout their protperties to notify residents of new watering restrictions. I also created a cling decal to complement the campaign that was displayed on golf carts within the properties.

Construction Company logo

Logo created for a construction and renovation firm located in Southwest Florida. The client wanted something to convey the sense of "anew" or beginnings and at the same time have a Floridian feel.

Comcast event invite

This is the front of an invitation to an event Comcast held to introduce a new program of their to community leaders. The whole thing was based around the Game of Life only being adapted into Life with Comcast. An entire room was converted into a large scale game board with various printed pieces on the ground for the different stages you could advance through.

JDMA animated gif

An animated gif created for the Journal of Design and Manufacturing Automation from CRC Press. The piece was created well in advance of the publication of the first issue. The breif I got for this was to create something eye-catching that would get people interested enough to have tham ask for more information. This was originally created as a poster, but the project's director was so happy with the initial idea that we expanded it into a brochure, direct mail piece and the above gif.

Chef Henri

A cartoon chef created when I was playing around with a retro cartoon style. You can purchase an apron with this guy on it here if you're so inclined. Or check out my complete gallery of items at Zalle.com..

Dating OnDemand one sheet

My most recent work for Karla Nelson of Comcast, this one sheet sets the foundation for an entire series of follow-up pieces that will highlight various OnDemand services. I opted for an open, clean look with multiple images to highlight the various facets of the services.

Comcast ad

This black and white ad was created for the program of a local charity event. I worked with Karla Nelson, Comcast's Regional Manager of Production & Public Affairs in South Florida. Working with Karla is always fun because she pushes me to do my best. For the above ad, all that I was provided with was the tagline. Concept and imagery were entirely up to me.

Auto dealer ad

Not every piece you create is going to be exciting and revolutionary. I feel it is just as important to put my best effort into the mundane as it is the challenging. Working part time for the IWANNA newspaper chain in Hickory I've cranked out large numbers of car ads, doing my best to make each one look good.

Food Compounds flier

As part of the direct mail marketing team at CRC Press/Taylor & Francis we would often be creating pieces for books long before they were published. Sometimes we were lucky enough to have great color artwork or photos available from the author. In other cases, like the one above, we learned to adapt, finding and creating appropriate artwork out of existing materials on hand. Working with a team of talented copywriters and fellow artists we turned out dozens and dozens of these things every month. I used to average 30 new pieces a month.
